Who is the woman behind Lipstick and Lace, Boutique?

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

Hi y'all and welcome to my first blog. I felt it was only fitting to introduce myself, for those of you that might not know me, my name is Heather. I live in a small town in Southwest, Virginia and trust me when I say it is SMALL. We don't have many options when it comes to shopping for trendy, affordable clothing. The places we do have seem to specialize in small clothing (which is fine for my small divas) or just isn't my style. I will be the first to tell ya, I'm curvy and have my own style; I'm okay with admitting it! The problem is, being able to find clothes I love without searching long and hard for them. Oh, yea and not breaking the bank.

Fashion has always been a love of mine. I do not go by rules when it comes to fashion, if you feel good in it, you ROCK it, boo! If you don't like my style, that is okay too, we can agree to disagree:)

I love feeling fierce in the clothes I'm wearing, so I hope I can help you feel the same. A bad day can go better if you are wearing the right outfit. With that being said, this is to all of my divas no matter your size, I'm here to uplift you and dress you in clothes you love. No matter your budget Lipstick and Lace can and will be your one stop shop.

NOW...Let's get down to business. I know, most of y'all, well ALL of y'all are wondering how in the world I come up with the name Lipstick and Lace. So, let's go ahead and get that out of the way. My best friend, hairdresser (go to her for ALL your hair needs), Jade helped come up with it. So, thanks Jade! I had a list of potential names, but nothing felt as right as Lipstick and Lace.

Everyone that knows me, knows I love my lipstick. You will RARELY see me without any on, so that is that. Therefore, lipstick stuck because it just made it work and come together.

When I was thinking of a name, I knew I wanted Lace to be in it someway, somehow. Reason being, my name was supposed to be Heather Lace Nicole, but on my birth certificate they left off Lace and my mama was furious. She would still introduce me to people as Heather Lace and if I was in trouble the full name followed. My mother has passed, but she was my absolute best friend. She taught me a lot about life and always assured me I would succeed in anything I do. She also loved my sense of style and I would text her pictures of my outfit for the day, just because she loved seeing what I put together.

I wanted Lace to be in the name of my store, because no matter what, Lace will live on, even after my last breath.

So, that my divas, is how Lipstick and Lace come about.

XOXO-

Heather
